Its main competition seems to be the Nissan 350Z. Listed below are some legal stock class modifications that will help make your RX8 a very fast autocross car... Tires: Currently the hot tire setup for the RX8 is the Kumho Ecsta V710. Some racers have successfully fit the size 275/35/18 V710's on the cars, but all the fast guys seem to run the 245/35/18. Wheels: There are not a lot of wheels to choose from to be legal for SCCA B Stock. The factory wheels are 18x8 with a +50mm offset, so you can get 18x8 wheels with down to a 44mm offset and still be legal for B Stock. Here are a few wheels that will work... Suspension: The factory suspension on the RX8 is pretty good right out of the box. Adjustable dampers like the Koni Sports are always a good option however. Interior: Its a little tricky to fit a harness belt into an RX8 because the hole in the headrest of the seat is pretty small. We have seen a few cars with 3 pt harness belts, but another option is a CG-Lock, which will make your stock seat belts hold you in a little better. Miscellaneous: |
