Doubletake has done a slight re-design on these mirrors for 2024. The mirror itself is the same and remains unchanged, but now instead of using a RAM arm and ball stud, Doubletake decided to design their own. The new Doubletake Base Kit is a universal fit, and every ball kit includes a redesigned ball stud with 4 bolts to allow fitment to any bike and eliminate unsightly adapters. The new Doubletake Arm 6.0 is made from A380 Die Cast aluminum and offers great visibility especially around luggage. It has been engineered to keep the mirror from moving, except when it has to in an impact. The low profile thumb nut is 25% longer to make adjustment easy even wearing gloves. Doubletake Mirrors vs. OEM Mirrors: The mirrors that come standard on most dual sport and ADV bikes work OK from a functional standpoint, but are not ideal for off-road riding. In some cases they can even do damage if they were to get bent or broken in a drop or crash. Specifically, take a look at how your stock mirrors are threaded into the front clutch and brake reservoir housings. If your inflexible stock mirror were to get hit just right, it could do damage to this expensive piece the mirror is mounted to. If you plan to fold the mirror down a large percentage of the time, or you do a lot of off-road riding, the Double Take Enduro Mirror is right for you. The long size means the head of the mirror tucks away right behind the headlight. If the mirror will remain extended most of the time, or you do mostly highway or street riding, get the Adventure Mirror - the more compact design is more stable at highway speeds.
